Welcome back to Callsign: Reach! This week, I take the CSI XR-5 out to Devil's Playground in Maineville, OH.
Overall, I was exceedingly impressed with the XR-5's performance and I'll definitely use it again!
Magazines:
MAG brand mid-cap
Feeding: perfect
Fit: a little difficult to engage magazine clasp but went in easy.
ARES M4 high-cap
Feeding: perfect. Magazine itself is janky.
Fit: perfect.
Tippmann M4 mid-cap
Feeding: perfect
Fit: TIGHT (mag has a large profile)
The gun doesn't like accepting certain types of magazines, but its not as bad as I originally thought. It feeds consistently without double-feeding or missing shots. It strangely seems to like high-caps best. The gun works! I scored several hits well past 100 feet. I put it through its paces and it met and exceeded my expectations.
The XR-5 was running at 298 FPS at chrono. A little lower than I expected (I believe the field was using heavier BBs to chrono) but I planned to use this gun as a CQB special from the start. The body took a lot of hits from BBs during the last fight but it came out COMPLETELY unscathed. I was very surprised by that and I'm definitely satisfied with the build quality.
