Call of Duty: Ghosts released back in 2013… and at the time, people absolutely hated it. The memes, the complaints, the reviews — it was called one of the worst COD games ever made. But over a decade later, I wanted to go back and see if Ghosts was really as bad as everyone said… and honestly, I was surprised.
In this video, I take a full look back at Call of Duty: Ghosts in 2025 — breaking down the multiplayer, the campaign, the maps, the art style, the DLC, and why this game had the impossible task of following Black Ops 2, one of the greatest CODs ever made. Ghosts wasn’t perfect — the camping, huge maps, and fast time-to-kill frustrated a lot of players — but the campaign was amazing, the theme was incredible, and the DLC and Extinction mode had some underrated gems.
Ghosts launched during a messy time for Infinity Ward. This was their first game after the Infinity Ward debacle during MW2’s development, and the studio had to rebuild while trying to follow BO2’s perfection. Combine that with a split console generation, COD burnout, and sky-high expectations… and Ghosts never stood a chance.
But now, more than 10 years later, it might be time to give Ghosts another look.
