While it's being framed as a common-sense safety measure to stop "ghost guns," the technical reality of this bill is far more reaching. AB2047 requires manufacturers to build monitoring systems and "firearm blueprint detection algorithms" directly into 3D printers and slicers. This doesn't just impact those making firearms; it creates a massive surveillance and privacy risk for every maker, engineer, and small business owner.
