California City has been hit hard, and during this RV Halloween trip we witness first-hand just how much recent storms destroyed the desert roads. Entire access routes are washed away, culverts are exposed or missing, and the landscape looks like nature took a bulldozer to it. This video documents the current conditions in Cal City, CA while we explore, prerun, and navigate trails that barely exist anymore.
We celebrate Halloween RV-style with trick-or-treating from rig to rig and a community potluck before heading deep into the Mojave Desert for some off-road adventure. The terrain around California City has always been a playground for overlanders, prerunners, dirt bikes, and off-road rigs, but right now the storm destruction changes everything. We fight through sand, silt, collapsed roads, and washouts to see what remains. We also stop at the Boron Visitor Center to learn about the area’s mining history before returning to the chaos of off-road recovery zones and trail damage.
