Join Justin Scarred and Tyler Evans and journey with us out to the Mojave Desert to see the once-abandoned "Ghost town" of Calico, "restored" in 1951 by none other than "The other Walt," Walter Knott!
The Founder of Knott's Berry Farm took this forgotten stretch of desert and used his theme park building skills to transform it into the modern tourist-stopping desert destination it is today.
Calico is small, but it takes some time to see it all, and we couldn't get through it all in one day, so we'll definitely be back. But we did manage to explore Calico's origins, wander through the town seeing historic buildings (such as the lucy lane museum & the calico schoolhouse), the Maggie Mine Tour, some of the weird and unique gift shops, and much more.
