This is one of my first testprints with my first homemade delta printer. I did not buy a readymade kit or so.
It is made of 2020 extrusions and measure 1200mm high and 600mm horizontal. Making up about 450mm diameter print area and 500mm height.( Right now i only have a 400mm mirror as plate)
I am using 0.9 degree steppers and DRV8825 drivers but i am running them at 1/16th step. Ramps1.4+Mega 2560 does not seem to keep up at 1/32 step. And it is totally unusable when active full graphic display is enabled also.
I am using magnetic carriages, but am having problems with too weak magnets. The arms pop off now and then, so i added some rubberbands to hold it together.. Will try something else later. Bigger magnets and balls maybe?
Also i opted for printed sliding carriages instead of smoothrods or ballbearing stuff. Works good. I have very good tolerances on them thanks to my well calibrated Velleman K8200.
