Smoke was taken from his mom, Sparkles, shortly after he was born—a heartbreaking standard practice in the dairy industry.
Sparkles was placed with a family through the Future Farmers of America program, while Smoke was sent to a different farm. They spent more than a year apart.
Sparkles was destined for slaughter, but after a family member formed a bond with her, they reached out to @littlebearsanctuary instead. In an incredible twist of fate, Smoke was also rescued from a life of exploitation and an early death.
When they were finally reunited more than a year later, Sparkles recognized her baby immediately.
