This feels quite unbelievable. I still remember a little over 3 years ago seeing that Bloodlust was verified and it gave me some weird motivation to want to become a great player, and now today I've proudly beaten something even higher than that and will likely stay as my hardest for quite a while; Calculator Core.
My expectations were really blown away with this. Ignoring a couple of old attempts from some time before (I don't remember when), I started to give this a try just a month and 6 days ago; on March 14. My original intention was just to play this a bit for fun but end up doing Ragnarok, but as I got 72-100% I realized that I was enjoying this so much more than Ragnarok and also felt like this could be something I was capable enough to beat, so I ditched Ragnarok and went with this. For much of my experience, I was having tons of fun with this. Although there are a few buggy bits and inconsistencies, they weren't happening too often and it felt really satisfying to start doing pretty long runs on a 3:24 top 10. Being able to play this in full detail was also something that made me more attached to it; I really love how the level looks and despite over 20 creators the parts matched very well with each other. Anyhow, sometime after I got 83% my experience suddenly became pretty bad for a while. It got increasingly stressful and frustrating whenever I couldn't do the runs that I felt like I should've been able to do. Eventually though, I did 12-100% on accident which changed everything. In a way I really hated the fact the run happened since it might as well have been beating the level, but in a way I'm a bit thankful for it now since it made me start playing this so much more and motivated me to finish it faster. After getting 84%, I accidentally did 12-100% again, which I ended up just laughing off. It became very clear that day that I would beat it soon; I ended up getting 95%, 89%, and a bunch of other runs making it to the last third. So after that, today happened. I died at Spectex once more at 92%, and after a bunch more grinding, I finally pulled it off. My new hardest and first ever top 10!
Even with my experience towards the end being how it was, I'm very glad I went with this and I think the level is really good, especially for its absurd difficulty and length. I only recommend it though to those who have very good nerve control or have a niche for extremely long levels. GG, and thanks everyone! :)
