EX NOTE: THIS IS THE STORY MODE (fixed) PLAYTHROUGH. this game is fine really. my only complaint is that i wish the game had an option to SYSTEM LINK because the split screen makes you wish you could both see the world in full instead of the small area we get on a third person game in splitscreen. i know this is what the original game did and its funny seeing it in 3D. it wouldve been neat
other than that, this seems like a standard toejam and earl game but in 3d. i think its ok for what they were trying to do. the voice acting is topnotch imo. this is actually our second time playing this game together because we found out in our first playthrough that the games progression is sort of messed up. you can do the final rap battle to engage the Anti-Funk (capital A, capital F) but ONLY if you have collected all the vinyls. if you play the final rap battle FIRST, AND THEN collect the vinyls, nothing happens and youd be stuck like us and a handful of online posters around the internet. if you did this and want to progress, all you have to do is complete the final rap battle again (icarus wings+medusa battle) and the door to the Anti-Funk will open. also i was debating cutting out soup grinding for money with earl sushi but i decided to leave that in lol
about PLAYING this game: this and the DLC ONLY playthrough actually went well but there was a few setbacks but it was mostly out of control and it was this old xbox. we used 2 different capture cards. one for STORY MODE playthrough and RANDOM MODE playthrough and both acted very anti-funky whenever we played this game. it kept stopping recordings randomly and so theres a LOT of places in this playthrough where it looks like something jumped forward a bit for a couple of seconds. there was only one stage where we actually skipped because we realized too late that our capture card stopped recording and we forgot to press record again but thankfully, that was a stage we were kind of backtracking to collect more keys to progress so its not that bad of a loss... so apologies if you see random black flashes and random cuts because that was just this old xbox acting weird. i dont want to blame both of my capture cards for this because they work just fine lol. here are the moments where it would randomly get cut - 5:45:32, 6:33:40, 8:58:58
