In this quick test I wanted to see how the image looked with and without wide dynamic range turned on. I'm also trying some new picture settings:
EV 0
Saturation 5
Sharpness 1
Contrast 2
Brightness 5
Basically, I would say that if you want a more natural, contrast-y image out of the camera (maybe for more cinematic footage), turn off WDR. However it's nicer to fly with WDR turned on as it brightens and flattens everything out making it easier to see. Also saturation may need to be turned up if running without WDR.
I think ideally Caddx could add a couple of stages of WDR like a high and low setting. In its current state it's quite aggressive making the image look sometimes overly bright and artificial like a photo with a little too much HDR. Still, I'm really liking this camera system. I can't wait to get it into the Airblade Intrepid.
