I think the non-laser cube from the last room may also be rescuable, note how it re-drops once I'm on the final platform - unclear what the routing for this would actually look like though

I think the text being cut off during the intro is because of the low framerate when emulated under Decaf. It always crashes on entering Greenflower, console and Decaf. You do sometimes get a few more seconds before the assertion hits and it renders a few frames of the level, so it's not that.
SDL really is a great thing, aside from the filesystem access optimisations I did (on-console is literally unusable without them) the actual port itself was reasonably simple. Other than fixing all the endian bugs that snuck in since v2.1, that is~

Will make a proper release/big fuss once romfs is a thing on Wii U. All the stutters your hear in the video are because it takes ages to load the music data from SD, so romfs should go a long way to helping that.PoC: Using Mocha to replace arbitrary RPX files (like the home menu)Ash2018-06-01 | Why yes, it was on the first page of suggestions from the YouTube Audio Library.
I've been working on some modifications to Mocha (see github.com/QuarkTheAwesome/mocha) and one of them allows you to call an ioctl to replace the next loaded RPX with, well, whatever you want. In this case, I replace the next loaded RPX with RetroArch, then go to the HOME Menu. Since the next loaded RPX is the main HOME menu binary, that gets replaced with RetroArch! I had HBL open since RetroArch requires opening HBL at least once to boot, it's not actually doing anything to achieve the file replacement.Stream Archive - Rewriting linux-wiiu kernelAsh2018-05-24 | Archive of some work on the linux-wiiu kernel rewrite. We reverse-engineered two functions from boot1, I showed Wii U Linux (after fixing the framebuffer size) and then we got stuck configuring Gentoo until I called it quits. Also did some Q&A throughout the whole thing.

This video got a LOT of attention from the copyright bots. Content that is not subject to a Nintendo copyright claim (i.e. stuff from my camera, laptop screen, NOT the Wii U capture) is licensed, like ht rest of my content, under Creative Commons Attribution; though I can't guarantee Nintendo would agree.[Wii U] Booting normally vs. Power+EjectAsh2017-02-26 | Time to dispel some myths, I suppose. Left two videos are pressing the power button and releasing, right two are pressing and holding Power+Eject until system is fully booted. White LED is hooked up to the power pin in the SD card slot; boot0 connects the power before reading the recovery image.VHS_4a70967d7783a52fb11188b2bd58e877.aviAsh2016-12-22 | ...MK8 Online: Blue Shelled in 5thAsh2016-12-21 | ...
