Not one, but two beautifully illustrated and finely crafted expansions are coming for the multiple award-winning Dragonbane RPG. Both Arkand – City of Waves and Flames and the Book of Magic will officially launch on Kickstarter on June 3, 2025.
About Dragonbane: Released in 2023, Dragonbane is a classic fantasy tabletop roleplaying game full of magic, mystery, and adventure. It is designed from the ground up to facilitate fast and furious play, with very little prep time and adventures that are a breeze to run. This “mirth and mayhem” game style leaves room for laughs at the table, while still offering brutal challenges for the adventurers.
Dragonbane is a translation of Drakar och Demoner, Scandinavia’s first and biggest tabletop RPG, originally launched in 1982. The new and reimagined edition has one foot firmly planted in the heritage of decades of Swedish gaming and the other in the modern and innovative game design for which Free League Publishing is known worldwide.
Players worldwide are invited to design and publish their own supplements for Dragonbane, using the third-party license for the game.
Arkand – City of Waves and Flames Key Features: ● A rich, bustling setting: Over a dozen adventure sites spread across five districts, along with a number of campaign seeds, and even more adventure sites available to be unlocked as stretch goals in this Kickstarter.
● Danger and intrigue: The player characters will experience a fierce power struggle in the city’s underworld, take on the role of demon hunters, and uncover secrets about Arkand’s storied past that could change the city forever.
● Award-winning creativity: Arkand – City of Waves and Flames is written by Johan Sjöberg and illustrated by Johan Egerkrans and David Brasgalla. If unlocked as a stretch goal, this book will also include a large separate 432 x 558mm full-color map drawn by Francesca Baerald.
Book of Magic Key Features: ● More magic: The Book of Magic adds at least five new schools of magic to your Dragonbane game, including harmonism, demonology, necromancy, witchcraft, and illusionism – with more possible to unlock as stretch goals – as well as new spells for the existing schools of general magic, animism, elementalism, and mentalism.
● More spells: All featured schools of magic come with a wide range of spells, which now come in five ranks. Each school is also described with information about their practitioners, station and reputation in the world, and what kind of spiritus familarius their members typically summon.
● More award-winning creativity: The Book of Magic is written by Mattias Johnsson Haake and Mattias Lilja (creators of Symbaroum) with Tomas Härenstam (Dragonbane Core Set) as co-writer and editor, and illustrated by Johan Egerkrans and David Brasgalla.League Lounge: ALIEN RPG – Evolved Edition and Rapture ProtocolFree League Publishing2025-04-10 | Join us for a special live stream with the ALIEN RPG game creators and host Ellinor DiLorenzo!

The initial offering will include a comprehensive Core Rulebook and Starter Set with illustrations by Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley and graphic design by Johan Nohr (MÖRK BORG).
Invincible – Superhero Roleplaying is designed by Adam Bradford, D&D Beyond founder and producer on titles for Dungeons & Dragons, Cortex Prime, and Marvel, and Tomas Härenstam, Free League co-founder and lead designer of titles such as the ALIEN RPG, the Blade Runner RPG, Mutant: Year Zero, and Dragonbane.
“Invincible is my favorite comic series, and I’ve wanted to play in this universe for many years. The way the story unfolds in a sprawling saga over the course of 144 issues – without endless retconning – lends itself particularly well to tabletop roleplaying, and I can’t wait for fans to experience their own superhero stories with the game,” says Adam Bradford.
“One of my very first tabletop roleplaying games was the old Marvel Superheroes by TSR, and making a superhero RPG has been a lifelong dream. I think the genre, and Invincible’s more grounded and visceral take on it, is a great fit for the Year Zero Engine game mechanics,” says Tomas Härenstam.ALIEN The Roleplaying Game Evolved Edition Bursts onto Kickstarter on March 25Free League Publishing2025-01-21 | The perfect organism is evolving, and Free League Publishing and 20th Century Studios are fighting back the urge to scream as they announce that the Kickstarter for ALIEN The Roleplaying Game Evolved Edition launches on March 25, 2025. The Rebellion rises with the latest epic expansion for our award-winning neon-noir RPG.
We are thrilled to reveal that the Replicant Underground is officially enlisting new recruits, with our Kickstarter campaign for Replicant Rebellion, our massive new expansion for Blade Runner: The Roleplaying Game.
Replicant Rebellion expands the scope of the acclaimed tabletop RPG, recruiting players to join the ranks of the Replicant Underground in Los Angeles 2037. Set at the same time and place as the Core Rulebook, players explore this neon-noir wonderland from the opposite perspective – now running from Blade Runners in an evocative cat & mouse race of provocateurs and powderkegs lit to explode, expose, and oppose the establishment, one way or another.
All backers will get the PDF version of Replicant Rebellion months ahead of the official release.
As an added incentive, all backers of physical items who pledge their support within the first 24 hours will receive an exclusive art print featuring Martin Grip’s electric cover art of Replicant Rebellion at no extra cost.
This Kickstarter campaign also offers an Asset Pack for use with both Replicant Rebellion and the Blade Runner RPG core game. The Asset Pack includes a host of physical and digital handouts and tools for the Game Runner to create their own Case Files and Operations.
For the Rebellion, players will run their own independent crew who must undertake a variety of operations, all while attempting to maintain their cover and keep their records clean. Are they helping fugitive Replicants evade capture? Sabotaging the titans of the Replicant trade? Grappling with the cops, courts, and megacorps? Clashing with warring crews and syndicates? Smoking out moles in your midst?
In this big city of dazzling lights and moral contradictions, Replicant Rebellion flips the famous script of the beloved Blade Runner universe and dares you to explore how much you’re willing to lose for a cause sacrificing it all. Yet regardless the price, the Rebellion must live on.
The main crew from the Blade Runner RPG core game continues on Replicant Rebellion with Tomas Härenstam as game director and lead designer, Joe LeFavi as setting writer, and Martin Grip as cover artist, plus new recruits: Eren Arik (Dune) as lead interior artist and Johan Nohr (MÖRK BORG, CY_BORG) providing mind-melting interstitials as the subversive voice of the Rebellion.
Replicant Rebellion for Blade Runner: The Roleplaying Game will include: • An in-depth overview of the history and organization of the Replicant Underground, charting its presence throughout the Blade Runner Universe. • Detailed guidelines on how to play a Replicant Underground campaign, including several new player character archetypes and various new rules, such as maintaining Covers and sweating the Heat as the law closes in. • Several complete Operations (i.e., full adventures) to play for a crew in the Replicant Underground.
The Blade Runner RPG core game was released in 2022, earning multiple industry awards. The game pushes the boundaries of investigative gameplay in tabletop RPGs, giving players a range of tools to solve an array of cases far beyond just retiring Replicants. The rules are based on the acclaimed Year Zero Engine, used in other award-winning games such as the ALIEN RPG, Tales from the Loop, and Forbidden Lands, but further developed and uniquely tailored for Blade Runner.

Dragonbane Path of Glory Announcement TrailerFree League Publishing2024-05-07 | Path of Glory Announced for the Dragonbane RPG A Classic Adventure Campaign Returns. Mirth & Mayhem Roleplaying
Dragonbane is a classic fantasy tabletop roleplaying game full of magic, mystery, and adventure. It is designed from the ground up to facilitate fast and furious play, with very little prep time and adventures that are a breeze to run. This is a game with room for laughs at the table, while still offering brutal challenges for the adventurers. We call this playstyle “mirth and mayhem roleplaying” – great for long campaigns, but also perfect for a one-shot.
Dragonbane is a translation of Drakar och Demoner, Scandinavia’s first and biggest tabletop RPG, originally launched in 1982. This new and reimagined edition has one foot firmly planted in the heritage of decades of Swedish gaming and the other in the modern and innovative game design for which Free League Publishing is known worldwide.

A group of travelers are heading out on a journey through a strange America in an alternate 1997. The ruins of gigantic battle drones litter the countryside, heaped together with the discarded trash of a high-tech consumerist society in decline.
A road trip on the verge of reality awaits. Go on a journey into the unknown. Free League Publishing today announced that the crowdfundig campaign for The Electric State Roleplaying Game is now live on Kickstarter.
The Electric State RPG is a tabletop RPG based on the narrative art book The Electric State by acclaimed visual artist and author Simon Stålenhag soon to be adapted into a major motion picture by the Russo brothers (Avengers: Endgame), starring Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy).
The game is not about the goal but the journey – what the characters experience and how it changes them. This is a game of exploration, but that which is explored is yourself and your friends, and what you are willing to do when the world collapses around you.
All backers who pledge levels with physical rewards within the first 24 hours will receive a bonus art print of the cover art by Simon Stålenhag.
If successfully funded, all backers will get to the PDF versions of The Electric State RPG months ahead of the official release.
THE ELECTRIC WORLD
Following the discovery of neuronics in the late 1960s, technology diverged from our own world. It is now the year 1997 and the world is on the verge of apocalypse.
The USA, ravaged by a second Civil War, has split into new federations. In Pacifica, formerly California, the ever-present Sentre corporation pushes the neuronic technology to the population via cheap headsets. If life was somehow almost normal before it isn’t anymore.
Sentre’s Mode Six upgrade of its nationwide system was the start of the fall. Civilization crumbles as something strange spreads through the neuronic net. People fail to turn up for the jobs, basic services cease to function, and the government is rapidly losing control.
The Electric State is coming.
ABOUT THE GAME
The Electric State RPG is a game of exploration and relations, conflict between groups and individuals, and what you are willing to do when you are stuck halfway to your goal and bad turns to worse. It’s a road movie through a land that is slowly falling apart.
The Electric State RPG is a standalone book that contains all the tools you need to play and create short to mid-length campaigns in a society on the brink of apocalypse, without the need for separate expansions and supplements.
The game is written by Nils Hintze (Tales From the Loop RPG, Vaesen - Nordic Horror Roleplaying) in collaboration with the Free League core team. The rules of the game are based on the acclaimed Year Zero Engine, used in award-winning games such as the ALIEN RPG, the Blade Runner RPG, the Tales From the Loop RPG and The Walking Dead Universe RPG, but uniquely tailored for this new game.

About Moria™ – Through the Doors of Durin
For long ages, the great city of the Dwarrowdelf was the seat of Dwarven kings. Deep they delved beneath the roots of the mountains in search of Mithril, the fabled Moria-silver. Wonders they wrought there, by the light of crystal lamps. But a thousand years ago, Durin’s Bane arose and drove the Dwarves from their halls. The city fell into darkness, becoming an abode of Orcs, Goblins – and worse.
But now, there is hope! Countless Orcs perished at the Battle of Five Armies, and it may be the Halls of Durin lie empty once more, waiting to be reclaimed by those with the courage to face the long dark under the mountain. Maybe there are piles of treasure there, waiting to be claimed. Maybe Mithril still glimmers in the mines under Caradhras.
Moria™ – Through the Doors of Durin includes: And At The Gates, The Trumpets Rang: Rivals, allies and patrons in the quest for Moria, as well as a history of the Dwarven city from its founding to its fall. Journeys in the Dark: Journey rules adjusted for underground exploration, Moria-specific Undertakings, and advice on running games and campaigns set in the city. Fell Foes lists the Orcs and other enemies that may be found in the city – and rules for risking an encounter with Durin’s Bane. The Mansions of the Dwarves is the largest part of the book, describing Landmarks and hazards in the various regions of Moria.
Moria™ – Through the Doors of Durin describes the city of the Dwarves and the surrounding lands as they were in the last years of the Third Age. For each region of Moria, we describe Landmarks, factions and non-player characters that the Loremaster can use as desired.
There is no ‘true’ Moria — in one game, maybe the great quest of the heroes is to loot the fabled Treasure Vault of Uruktharbun. In another, the treasure vault might have lain broken and empty for a thousand years; in another, it never existed at all. Moria is to be explored cautiously; even the Wise cannot trust their memories in this place.
The One Ring™ is the official tabletop roleplaying game based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, designed by Francesco Nepitello and Marco Maggi and published by Free League in partnership with Sophisticated Games and Middle-earth Enterprises. Created specifically to evoke the atmosphere of The Hobbit™ and The Lord of the Rings™, the game contains rules for creating heroes and sending them off on adventures in a land threatened by the growing Shadow.PIRATE BORG TrailerFree League Publishing2023-06-20 | The Scurvy Ridden PIRATE BORG Now Roaming the Oceans! With these books, Tolkien introduced readers to his greatest creation, the world of Middle-earth, a mythic land from a remote past.
First released in 2011, The One Ring™ was hailed as the best attempt at bringing Middle-earth to the gaming table to date. Now the time has come for the game to enter a new era and bring new players further into the Twilight of the Third Age with the new 5E conversion The Lord of the Rings™ Roleplaying.
The year is 2965 of the Third Age and the Shadow is returning. Rumors of strange things happening outside the borders of civilized lands are spreading and they sometimes reach the ears of individuals who recognize the sinister truth they hide. You are part of such a company of heroes seeking adventure. Restless warriors, curious scholars and wanderers, eager to seek what was lost or explore what was forgotten.
Together, you are entering the Lone-lands of Eriador. It is here that the One Ring lies, a seed of the past that will one day lead the world to open war against the returning Shadow. The Enemy is moving, and smoke issues once more from Mount Doom, in the land of Mordor...Free League Update 3/16/2023 | 2023 Plans and BeyondFree League Publishing2023-03-16 | Free League Publishing: http://freeleaguepublishing.com Join Tomas and Doug as they discuss Free League's catalogue of games and plans for releases in 2023 and possibly beyond.

The official The Walking Dead Universe Roleplaying Game is now live on Kickstarter! The game invites you to explore the unforgiving, post-apocalyptic world of the dead, where you must learn to survive. Together.
No matter what impossible choices and daunting challenges you may encounter, the hardest choice will always be the same: Who are you going to be?
All backers that make a pledge within 24 hours of the campaign launch will receive a bonus art print of the cover art by artist Martin Grip. This only applies to pledge levels including physical rewards.
All backers will get early access to PDF versions of the complete Core Rulebook soon after the Kickstarter ends, months ahead of the official release.
We have seen many stories take place in The Walking Dead Universe - now, the time has come to see yours.
In The Walking Dead Universe Roleplaying Game, you will play as people struggling to survive in a hostile world. Exceptional challenges can appear from anywhere – from the lack of essential supplies, from conflicts brewing within the group, from hidden construction flaws in your safe haven, or from approaching walkers hungering for your flesh. Pushing the boundaries of the survival genre, every group can tailor the gaming experience to suit their own interests and play style.
In the game, the player characters must not only hone their physical skills, but deeply explore who they truly are – what drives them to go on, what they consider worth fighting for, and what they’re capable of doing, in the best and worst of times.
There are two ways to play the game – Campaign Mode and Survival Mode:
In Campaign Mode, it is your goals and choices, and the result of your group efforts, that create the storyline.
In Survival Mode, you are faced with a dangerous situation that needs to be handled immediately. Survival Mode scenarios often feature locations and characters from the TV series.
Expect the stress and stakes to be high. The rules of The Walking Dead Universe RPG are based on the acclaimed Year Zero Engine, used in Free League´s award-winning games such as the ALIEN RPG, Blade Runner RPG, Tales From the Loop, Mutant: Year Zero and Forbidden Lands, but uniquely tailored for The Walking Dead Universe.
The rules are designed to blend seamlessly with the story and allows you focus on character drama while pushing the themes of the game to the forefront.
The Walking Dead Universe RPG is a co-production between AMC Networks and the award-winning tabletop publisher. The Free League team is working closely with key forces behind the franchise, including Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe, Scott M. Gimple. The RPG series will introduce new story elements while drawing inspiration from the current series and upcoming spin-offs.
The game is directed by Free League co-founders Tomas Härenstam (ALIEN RPG, Blade Runner RPG) and Mattias Johnsson Haake (Symbaroum), with Nils Hintze (Tales from the Loop RPG, Vaesen - Nordic Horror Roleplaying) as lead writer, Gustaf Ekelund (Twilight: 2000) and Martin Grip (ALIEN RPG, Blade Runner RPG, Symbaroum) as lead artists, and Genuine Entertainment's Joe LeFavi (ALIEN RPG, Blade Runner RPG, Dune, The Dragon Prince) as producer and brand manager on the game series.
