They are beautiful, big and magical creatures, but it’s not their majestic ears or funny trunk that I find most appealing about them, what really fascinates me is that they are one of the most emotional living beings in the world, and I believe that there’s something we can learn from them. Some of you might remember a video went viral a while ago, about some humans feeding a watermelon full of explosives to an elephant. I made this song thinking of these adorable creatures before I watched that video, and it was after I watched it that I decided to do something a little bit bigger to honor them. They have to endure so much that it seems their hearts (just like their tusks) are also made of that strong and resistant ivory hunters are so fond of, right? It came to my mind that there's connection between elephants, abused children and suicide survivors, to me all of them have a resilient and resistant Heart of Ivory, which is why I decided to use that as a name for my album and biggest source of inspiration for all the songs I've been creating. Elephants are just as strong on the outside as in the inside, let's hope for the day they don't have to live afraid of humanity's greed, just as all kinds of wildlife. Hice esta canción pensando en estas adorables criaturas antes de ver ese video, y fue después de verlo fue que decidí hacer algo un poco más grande para honrarlos. Deben resistir tanto que parece que sus corazones (al igual que sus colmillos) también están hechos de ese fuerte y resistente marfil que tanto les gusta a los cazadores, ¿verdad? Me vino a la mente que hay una conexión entre los elefantes, los niños maltratados y los supervivientes de suicidio. Para mí todos ellos tienen un Heart of Ivory resiliente y resistente, por eso decidí usarlo como nombre para mi álbum, así como la mayor fuente de inspiración para todas las canciones en las que he estado creando.Los elefantes son tan fuertes por fuera como por dentro, tengamos esperanza por el día en que no tengan que vivir temerosos de la codicia humana, al igual que todo tipo de vida salvaje. The Midnight is organizing this dynamic so we can get through these difficult pandemic times, encourage us to #stayhome, and to be unified and connected when we have to keep social distance. I have spent many hours listening to Ennio Morricone's music since I was a teenager, the Wild West is one of my favorite historic settings in movies and video games (mostly Red Dead Redemption to be honest, hereby the artwork's influence too), and it never would've been the same without Morricone's contributions.I hope you like this piece of music, I have more #folk #western songs coming up as well as synthwave and piano!
