Missing - Halloween MEP Rubina980 2023-11-01 | Please read !Hello everyone.Welcome to this year's Halloween MEP. I sincerely apologize for the delay. Although there have been a few last-minute dropouts, the MEP actually WAS completed on time. However, one of the files was damaged / incomplete, which caused the program to crash during rendering. Not only was the file destroyed, I also had to reinstall my program several times and even install a new media player. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have been trying to resolve this mess for over 30 hours now (no, I did NOT sleep, lol). Due to all this, the MEP is a little late this year, and I'm terribly sorry. The theme of this year's MEP was "haunting spirit" - the dreadful feeling of being haunted by one's own negative, persistent feelings like fear and loneliness. It was a significantly more somber theme and also a slower song compared to the previous Halloween projects that I had hosted in the past. It was quite a challenge, and still, everyone did such an amazing job. I am extremely happy and thankful for each and every part.A huge "thank you" to everyone who joined. You all did perfectly.I also want to thank Char and Sabry in particular for both doing a WONDERFUL backup part in a very short time. You two are beyond awesome! I loved that song to pieces ever since I first heard it. Around two years ago, I was talking to Razzy and offered to make a video for one of his upcoming songs, and he told me that a cover of the continuation of "Cendrillon", a song named "Catastrophe" was in the making. I was over the moon and started working on it right away with the audio and art files Razzy provided. I kept him informed of my progress throughout, and a few days before Valentine's Day, the day the song was originally supposed to be released, I contacted Razzy again to update him of the progress. In that conversation, however, it was revealed that it all had been a misunderstanding, and that another editor for the music video had been choosen already. Frustrated over the situation and that all the hard work I did until then had been for naught, I basically abandonned the project and didn't touch it for several years. But a few days ago, I spontanously decided to finish the video at last, and to upload it as a fanmade video for the birthday of "Cendrillon". While I still think there are a few things I could have done better, I am still content with the outcome of this video. AhahahaSo, where do I start?Life's been kinda busy, kinda boring lately. I'm halfway inactive due to my lack of motivation / time, yet I have like 10000 ideas in mind that I still wanna visualize someday... Maybe in the next 8 years lol ヾ(＠⌒▽⌒＠)ﾉAbout this AMV: I've been wanting to do a MikaYuu Amv to this song ever since I first heard it on the radio. HOLY SHIT the song is just b e a u t i f u l. I've been a fan of Billie Eilish for some time but this song topped EVERYTHING. What a masterpiece. I looooove it ~(^з^)- Off did I go, to watch Owari no Seraph during quarantine 'cause I simply never did before. Big Ooof. Still got mixed feelings about the show. I just don't really know what to make of it? I mean, I love the storyline and the visuals, but daaamn the characters are so.... dull? And boring. And literally all the girls appear to be stupid or tsundere. Or even both. AAAargh (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻ Yeah but I still wanna watch season two at least since I'm still very interested how the story continues. Can't deny that I'm hooked on a specific hot vampire boy who resembles Hisoka a lot... hehehe (●´ω｀●) Making this Amv was rather fun. I felt kinda relaxed doing what I wanted and not running after some studio leaders. I really should work on more personal projects in the future instead of Meps that'll leave me unsatisfied. I did struggle a bit to find the *perfect* scene for each part of the song, but in the end, I kinda like how it turned out now. It's not a perfect result, but the final video looks very much like I imagined it in the beginning. It might be a bit simpler than other entries, but well, it fits the song, so I'm fine with it personally（ミ￣ー￣ミ）.... Honestly I'm just a little insecure about the lack of typography and the terrible voice-over fx. But since YRS seems to mostly abstain from text in their raw Meps, I decided it'd be better this way. And I've wanted to try voice-over again for a long time but never had the chance. It still angers me that I couldn't find any episodes with seperated audio files. I just reaallly hope people don't notice the background music too much... ಥ_ಥFun fact: At first I had planned on joining the FX category as well but oh BOY I underestimated my own damn laziness..... ┐(‘～`；)┌And yes even I am surprised that I decided to join a contest after all these years again. Leon x Sayaka - High School Sweethearts [Part] Rubina980 2020-02-15 | Been a while since my last Danganronpa edit, haha...Boy, that was one hell of a ride. Not least because I got sick while finishing up the part on Wednesday and kinda just dragged myself from editing on my laptop to the bathroom to throw up & back lololGosh, I felt so awful that day. It was a real nightmare.Sooo.... where do I start?I mean, I kinda like the part how it is now. Even if it's like, super duper pink...Can't deny though that I wasn't struggling a bit with the theme and the short amount of time. Actually wanted to help out a studio I liked with a backup, but I guess in the end I did us both more bad than good lolSo when the leader kept on asking for more and more changes, which isn't exactly a bad thing per se (I was able to improve my part significantly because of it), I had to surrender after the 3rd time or so and rest. At some point, I could hardly sit upright any more and the day afterwards I slept for 14 hours straight. I handed over my files to the leader, she and another member of DespairStudios then played with the part until they were satisfied with it, you can see the final result when you click on this link (don't worry, it's safe):shorturl.at/lsEIPTo be honest...I'm grateful for some changes, especially the addition of details in the middle and the white heart outline at the beginning (which wasn't there at first). It definitely made the end result more interesting. But there are as well changes in some parts that I personally think made the part much worse, especially concerning the overlays at the beginning, the bright colouring and the changes regarding the fonts. Also, I would have loved to keep the knife transition, but I can see why they replaced it.That's just my own opinion.Overall, it was an interesting experience to work with DespairStudios and I'm grateful for it. It was probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so the only regret is that I should've joined one of their darker MEPs instead, as I'm more engrossed in them.Also, I learned once more that I really have to work hard to become better at general movement / camera movement in my edits. I'm always struggling with that, so if anyone can give me some advice on how to make flowy and fast movements in fx edits in Vegas, please do let me know. Ich hab damals total gestruggled als ich deine Liste gesehen habe. Normalerweise mag ich nämlich so gar nicht was du magst... Pastell und cute und diese ruhigen Sängerinnen. Deine Lieblingssängerin ist übrigens meine absolute HASS-Sängerin. Das war für mich der Horror ;w; Dann habe ich nach Ewigkeiten dieses Lied gefunden und war super Happy - damit konnte ich etwas anfangen. Dann fing ich an zu planen und das Lied zu schneiden und Inspiration zu sammeln und dann - plötzlich hieß es die Namen werden neu gezogen. Da wollte ich die Leader an die Wand schmeißen! grrruh ;w;Total unmotiviert sah ich dann eine Woche später nach wer das neue Opfer ist.... Und dann habe ich gesehen, dass sich das bei mir nicht geändert hat :D Mensch da war ich erleichtert!Trotzdem Midna möchte ich mich entschuldigen. Ich hatte total viele Ideen für FX, für coole Ästhetik und so Kram und hab sogar Sachen aufgemalt wie ich das dann machen wollte lol. Aber ich war das gesamte letzte Jahr in Japan und bin erst am 22sten Dezember heim gekommen, und im letzten Monat war ich dann total beschäftigt mit... Naja Leben xD. Ich hab meine japanischen Freunde besucht und war in verschiedenen Städten. Ich war so oft so lang unterwegs und hatte so gut wie keine Zeit zu editieren. Und falls ich dann mal Zeit hatte, was wirklich nicht oft war, dann lief immer irgend etwas schief. Einmal gab's Problem mit dem Adapter und ich konnte meinen Laptop nicht aufladen, oft ging das WLAN nicht oder sonst irgendwas ;w;In der letzten Woche wurde ich dann auch noch extrem krank und konnte mich null konzentrieren. Eines Nachmittags hab ich ungefähr 5 Minuten geschnitten und schon bin ich auf dem Stuhl eingeschlafen weil's mir so dreckig ging (bin immernoch so krank. QwQ)Am Ende ist das Video nicht einmal halb so gut geworden wie ich es gerne hätte. Es sieht ziemlich lazy aus und ich konnte meine Ideen leider kaum umsetzen. Instead of other MEPs, this one didn't have a specific theme or colorsheme. Also the parts were longer than usual (up to 15 seconds). I have been editing way too much (and with too much effort) lately... the result is that I'm super unmotivated for fancy effects right now. So here is an Amv that I made with NO effort at all :'D (as you can see...)To be honest, this is an issue that bothers me a lot in the Amv community. Mostly editors who join MEPs like me are affected the most. There's just too much competition everywhere, everyone is trying to become better than "the other ones" so that they go too far and lose their love for a hobby. I even started to feel kinda embarrased to share simple videos... until I realized there's no need to feel this way. I kinda want the old times back when there were more simple Amvs and a happier community. Well, time cannot be reversed. But we can try not to be so hard on ourselves.Soooo I challenge all editors who read this: Make a super simple Amv with a footage you love. Don't put any effort in it. Remember how it was when you started editing. I'd really love to see others do the same :)And even if you don't agree, please remember to enjoy your hobby and not to take it too far.
