The Kinetic kit comes with plastic bullets whereas the pepper kit comes with pepper balls. The Byrna SD replaces the older Byrna HD model. The XL version allows is a bit longer but allows you to use generic 12-gram CO2 instead of the smaller 8-gram proprietary CO2 canisters.
