Here are my tips that have helped me heal and prevent my body and backne breakouts!!
- As a first step for those spicy breakouts 🌶 ~ I’ll use my pimple patches to cover those babies up overnight or for a few hours to draw out excess gunk and oils as well as preventing me from touching them and making them worse
- To heal these pimples ~ a handy dandy hack 🤝 is you can actually use your skincare chemical exfoliants on your back and body instead of spending more to get a spray specifically for it. Chemical exfoliants with AHA’s and BHA’s or even Hypochlorous acid will help clear and prevent these breakouts by loosening the dead skin cells and freeing up your pores.
- Last tip is moisturizing ~ don’t skip this step as it is crucial for the healing process and preventing further breakouts!! Even though you might think moisturizing 💧 has nothing to do with healing and preventing body and back acne, it is quite the opposite. Moisturizers often contain ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, or glycerin, which can help soothe and repair the skin. By keeping the skin adequately moisturized it enables your skin to regulate oil production and reduce the production of dead skin cells from clogging the pores. Bonus!! Using a moisturizer can also help counteract the drying effects of the exfoliants used to treat your break outs and reduce irritation. For a double hit, I will opt for a moisturizer that contains Salacylic acid which can help with the pigmentation left from acne scars.
