TaTA – Bye Bye
Tata bye bye , is an animated short film directed by Deepak Subba and is based on story “Escape a tale of two children”. The short is a subtle film that tries to paint some of the childhood memories. It also captures the innocence of children and how they have their own little world but at the same time how a child is influenced and manipulated by family/social circumstances.
The story unfolds through the relation between a sister, Karya and her little brother Popo. Karya always carry a sense of protection and care towards her brother as they spend time and days together in a small hilly village. Along the film, a village lifestyle is also roughly painted with help of few other characters.
Later in the story, their uncle from a very far away and big city visits to take them away .
The children bids everyone goodbye in excitement , thinking they are going for a short ride, and not knowing it would be the last time they will be seeing their house, friends and mother .
The story is indirectly an interpretation of how family prefers to look into bigger cities for the children’s good education and future.
TEAM Background
Escape animation is a small team of passionate artist and animator. The team worked on this short for last 6 years, going back and forth between different projects. The short is rather a work of experience, learning and memories.
At initial stage, the team wanted to create a much longer (feature) film but later decided to just create a short .
