So I invited my good friend Daria to have a ride in my new electric car, BYD Atto 3, to test out the voice command features. Naturally she went to test out the calling feature to see if the car can call her mobile. Awkward moment - the car did not know who Daria was.

There is a very simple explanation for that. Normally the car would search for the name in the contact list on my phone as they are connected via Bluetooth. However, Daria just told me her number recently so I haven't had a chance to add her to my contact list yet.

Pro tip to all the BYD Owners - if you're gonna invite someone to issue voice commands in your car, make sure they're on your contact list! Anyway, you can still call phone numbers by just saying the number out loud. For example, you can simply say "call 04xxxxxxxx" and it will call the number.
