We've been doing a TON of work on our yard and one of the most fun parts of that has been buying trees! Turns out you can buy FULLY GROWN trees, some even two stories high, and have them delivered and planted for you. This is called Ueki Matsuri (Garden Plant aka Tree Festival), although it's more of a market than a festival. (Everything's called a festival here.) Tree farmers, landscapers, etc all bring out a bunch of their plants and set up shop for about a month. Kind of like a flea market for trees! A lot of these trees and plants are way cheaper than you find at garden centers or nurseries, often they're impeccable quality, and many of them you can't buy anywhere else. In the intro clips for this video we show a hainoki tree (Japanese sapphireberry) we bought at another tree market last month that's over 30 years old! (We'll show planting and everything later on!)
