Butterflies card using Distress Inks and Stamps from Anthony's Paper Craft. Today I am doing another butterfly card. This time I am using a new technique for me. I really like how the first layer of the butterflies came out as it’s a neat watercolor look but also has that distress oxide feel. I know the camera didn’t pick it up as well as it looks in person.
I wanted to use the WOW blue glitter embossing powder but had some issues. I did a test earlier in the week on some scrap paper to see how this powder worked as it looks amazing right out of the jar. Much to my dismay it turned a blue muddy mess. I thought I over heated it, so tried again and obtained great results. So fast forward and I decide to use it on this project. It went on perfect and looked amazing, I heated it a little and let it cool, it didn’t set. I heated it a little more, let it cool, it didn’t set. I heated it a 3rd time and it turned muddy. I don’t know the trick to using it. Too little heat and it doesn’t set, too much and it burns and turns muddy. I will have to try this powder again, it is possible it doesn’t like the distress ink, but that had completely dried and the powder was applied to Versamark, so not sure. If anyone has used this and has any tips please let me know.
