In Bushido Blade, you need to complete some requirements in order to get the first ending but the true/secret ending as well. You cannot attack until your opponent finishes their intro speech aka honoring the code of Bushido. If you are going for the secret ending, you MUST go to the well with your first opponent. You also CANNOT take any damage/die. If you do not do the well portion in the beginning, then you won't get access to the secret ending but only the first ending. Same rules for every character. There are multiple ways to get to the well, but this is the one I like the most. I edited in the first ending from another playthrough where you would normally see it 'if' you did not lure your first opponent to the well at the beginning.
