This project has been like two months in the making!
I started recording this song before the Silent Hill 2 Remake came out, with the intention of writing it based around the original game's plot, and then putting it out to coincide with the release of the remake, so that way, the lyrics of the song can apply to either version of the game, in case it would end up sucking like most people thought at the time.
Luckily, the remake is out now (it has been for a little bit), and it turned out to be pretty good! So while the music video uses footage from the remake's gameplay and trailers, the song can still apply to the original game if you don't like the remake.
This was originally gonna be a somewhat smaller project. I originally planned on having it out in early October, right after the release of the remake. However, while the song itself was ready by then, I hadn't even started filming the video yet (mostly because of people's schedules not lining up, among other things). Filming and editing the music video took a little bit of time, but luckily, it's completed now, and I'm mostly content with the final product!
Unsurprisingly, this isn't a metal song. I decided to go with more of a post-grunge direction for this one (think bands like Daughtry), while trying to maintain a similar mood and energy to Akira Yamaoka's legendary compositions. I also recorded all the guitars myself this time, without using any MIDI guitar... Including the solo and lead guitars!
Kinda proud of myself for that one.
There's even a couple of references to the original game's theme song in there; see if you can pick them out! One of them is pretty obvious...

...I can't really provide a link to getting the original game since it hasn't been officially rereleased at all (unless you count the HD Collection... Which I don't for obvious reasons.)
Your best bet would be either looking on the internet for a copy, or finding a ROM and running it in an emulator.
