I heated a 3v CR2032 lithium battery with a butane torch. The battery immmediately stared to expand anf after few seconds it exploded producing green sparks. The top piece flew over 15 meters high (50 feet) and the lithium core landed near the torch in flames. That black liquid that you saw pouring out of the battery was some type of insulator.
