Andrew Montford, Director of Net Zero Watch, responds to Andy Burnham’s pledge to fully commit to Net Zero by 2050.

Speaking on TalkTV, Montford warns that pursuing Net Zero regardless of the economic consequences risks pushing household energy bills above £2,000, accelerating the decline of Britain’s industrial base and putting jobs and businesses at risk.

He also challenges claims that the Net Zero agenda will reindustrialise Britain, arguing that many of the manufacturing jobs associated with renewable technologies have instead been created overseas.
