In an effort to repair the glitching and buffering from the last camera that, as we know, was replaced due to the extreme conditions at the summit, we have a new one installed!
USGS HVO confirmed that during Episode 38, The V3 camera on the south rim was actually buried by tephra from a lava fountain. π‘π₯ It took a direct hit from KΔ«lauea!
After Episode 42, a brand new replacement to fix the data issues for good (hopefully!) . Check out the moment the volcano claimed the camera in the video! π¬π
