We visited the Crystal River Archaeological State Park in Florida in August 2025. There are several types of mounds here from midden to ceremonial to burial. They are similar to those found in the Ohio River Valley, which leads some to believe that this was part of a trade route. There are items in the mounds that wouldn't be found in Florida. We also may have found a spirit!
