The Whopper Jr. is a burger sold at Burger King. It has exactly the same ingredients as the Whopper (white bun topped with sesame seeds, minced and flame-grilled beef patty, ketchup, mayo, lettuce, onion, tomato and pickles), and intended to be a variant thereof, but smaller.

The Whopper Jr. was invented by inconvenience. In Puerto Rico, US, a new branch of Burger King was to be opened. However, the shop owner did not obtain the standard Whopper buns in time for the opening. So instead, he used regular burger buns and created the Whopper Jr. sold to this day.[1]
No matter which location, it’s around a dollar cheaper to customize a Cheeseburger into a Whopper Jr. with cheese than it is to buy one itself.
