This birdhouse is inspired by the architectural styles of the early 20th century (one of my favorite time periods for woodworking and design). I incorporated a basic Arts and Crafts style with a hint of Asian influence. It is a fairly simple build, the most difficult part is cutting the compound angles, but there is an easy trick to getting them right. The roof is made from Walnut, while the walls and floor are Sassafras and the project is finished with Teak Oil. The birdhouse is my official entry for the Summers Woodworking Creative Birdhouse Contest.
