Filmed in 1973, and based on Frances Moore Lappé's best-selling book DIET FOR A SMALL PLANET, this short documentary features Lappé, author Ellen Buchman Ewald and nutritionist/biochemist Dr. Kendall King as they discuss and explore the nutritional value of protein, the ecological costs of a meat-centric Western diet, and how to cook and prepare delicious dishes that exemplify the three main combinations of non-meat foods which produce high quality protein: grains & legumes, milk products & grains, and legumes & seeds.
