The age-old 2-stroke vs 4-stroke debate is back... but this time it's not stock.

Today I'm putting a fully built Yamaha YZ300 2-stroke head-to-head against a modern YZ450F to find out which bike is actually faster in a backyard setting—and which one is more fun to ride.

We'll break down:

• The history behind both bikes
• Power delivery and rideability
• Maintenance intervals
• Pros and cons of each platform
• And finally... a lap time shootout to see which bike comes out on top.
