So, a lot people might think of radiation coming from nuclear reactors or radioactive objects, but sometimes it’s the building itself!
In Europe, some walls, buildings, and even an ordinary home had noticeably elevated radiation levels due to the materials they were constructed from. Some older buildings were built using ash, slag, or locally sourced stone containing naturally occurring radioactive elements.
Not dangerous to walk past… but, definitely not something you expect to find with a gamma spectrometer.
