Abstract:
Evolutionary science is increasingly providing a theoretical framework for positive change efforts across all scales and topic domains. A single book--Prosocial: Using Evolutionary Science to Build Productive, Equitable, and Collaborative Groups (Atkins, Wilson and Hayes 2019) has been influential in the cultural diffusion of the evolutionary paradigm. This seminar and discussion forum will present an analysis of articles that cite the book as itself a case study of cultural evolution. Ample time will be allowed for discussion on how the cultural evolution of the evolutionary paradigm can be further catalyzed.

Fabio Bento is an Associate Professor at Oslo Metropolitan University
Fabio’s research focuses on learning and change in different kinds of social groups. He has developed an interest in applying concepts from complexity science, such as emergence, interactions, and feedback loops, to understand how change takes place and can be facilitated in different organizational settings, such as schools, higher education institutions, the public sector, and the oil & gas industry. His fascination for complex systems derives from his interest in understanding the spaces of interactions from which our common future is constantly being re-constructed.
