The Royal Mail Steamship Olympic begin construction December 16th 1908, on October 20th 1910 the hull was launched & the ship was fully fitted with its interior/completed on May 31st 1911. The Olympic would go on the serve until April 1935 then between end of 35 & 36 Olympic was scrapped. Having successfully served as an ocean liner & assisting in WWI as a troop ship.
At some point during the Olympic’s transatlantic crossings in 1927 my great grandfather, great grandmother & grandfather came over from Macedonia.
The year following the completion of Olympic its younger sister which was modified making her slightly heavier & taking the title of biggest Titanic was completed. About 13 days later the sinking of Titanic sinking/1,600 people dying would forever overshadow the Olympic & the final ship of the Olympic class Britannic.
Being that the Olympic was the only one to survive, had a successful work career including sinking an enemy submarine & my family connection. The Olympic is the coolest so here’s the completed Olympic 1:1 scale in Minecraft completed on October 20th 2024 114 years after the real ship was launched.
