My Landscape art in Joshua Tree phase has begun! I built 20-foot circular lounge chair out of earth, rock, and concrete at the RESET Hotel which is located right next to Joshua Tree National Park. This landscape art project is called the Moon Pad and it’s the first big project in the 100-acre sculpture garden on the grounds of the RESET Hotel. This 65-room hotel opened in July of 2025 and is the best place to stay when visiting Joshua tree national park. To create this circular form, I welded a steel arm that rotates around an axle. By screwing a plywood template to it I could shape the concrete through rotations. Building the hotel was a long exhausting project so I am so thankful for my sister jessie, shane of moonride films, and Anthony Burkins for all the work they put into this crazy sculpture right after the hotel was completed.
