This short video describes results from the New Horizons mission a year after it passed by Arrokoth, the odd double-lobed Kuiper Belt Object over a billion kilometers past Pluto. Scientists simulated collisions between two objects and showed that they had to hit at a very low speed (less than 3 meters per second!) and at a very shallow angle, or else the observed structures don't form.
