Welcome to the very first episode of How It's Played Labs! This is our new series where we experiment with exciting mechanics from other TTRPGs and rebuild them from the ground up for use in your Pathfinder 2nd Edition games.
Ever feel like your biggest boss fights just turn into a race to deplete a single, massive HP bar? What if your players could tactically target a dragon's wings to ground it, or destroy a construct's power core to disable its main weapon?
In this Lab, we're adapting the "Multi-Part Opponent" rules from the JRPG-inspired Fabula Ultima: Natural Fantasy Atlas to create truly dynamic and memorable boss encounters in Pathfinder 2e. We provide a complete, step-by-step framework to convert any PF2e monster into a multi-part boss!
If you enjoy this kind of deep-dive homebrew content, be sure to Like the video, Subscribe to the channel, and hit the Bell Icon so you don't miss the next Lab experiment!
What other TTRPG mechanics should we adapt for PF2e? Let us know in the comments!
