Creating a track from scratch, without prepared sequences , in max. 5 minutes. That was this weekend’s motto of the „Hardware Jams“ Facebook group.
So you see me building up live the core part of a new melodic techno - trance track. Of course with errors: See me totally messing up a break in the beginning and turning volume down on the wrong sound in the end... 🤪🤛
As a basis, I used the sounds of my last song „Electro Summer Party“, so some soundshaping had already been done.
You can see my usual workflow: Build a beat, play with the sounds to find a good musical basis and arrange them by using the last step feature and the Electribe 2‘s arpeggiator.
And turning the knobs on playthrough.
The NTS-1 is sequenced by pad 1 of the E2. It is playing the SAW oscillator with a bit of detune, some shape LFO and Filter sweep LFO. It is heavily drowned in a short Submarine reverb.
Sound of both units is mixed by the Zoom R-16, applying Limiter and Compression master effects to the channels. Ableton Live 10 is used to record and mix / master the tracks. No edits have been applied.
