In this quick video, I show how I bevel the back panels for the sideboard. One thing I don't mention is that, since only one side will be seen (the inside) and the other will be against a wall, I only really make one side look nice.
I had to get creative to source enough material for these panels. I didn't want a bunch of small boards/panels glued up, so I had to resaw some more.
One thing that helps is that the back is divided into 3 sections. So I had 2 smaller panels and one wider one. This is good because there are 2 vertical supports in the back to support back top rail and to support the shelf that will be inside the sideboard. Also, it serves to divide the panels up, which mitigates the wood movement some, since it's split among 3 panels, and not all in one giant one.
