Sandro Pinto, OSYX Technologies

This session was a part of the Hardware track at the RISC-V Developer Workshops held at RISC-V Summit Europe 2026 in Bologna, Italy.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
This hands‑on challenge introduces participants to virtualization on RISC‑V using a CVA6-based platform (MCU configuration - no MMU) and the Bao hypervisor. Participants will work with a prepared baseline system and progressively extend it to build a multi‑guest
virtualized platform running heterogeneous workloads desirable for future automotive microcontroller. The session combines guided exploration with a challenge-oriented structure to demonstrate how virtualization enables safe partitioning and communication between isolated software components.
