Vector 3D | Building a 20 Year old RepRap 3D printer - Part 8 @Vector3DP | Uploaded April 2024 | Updated October 2024, 2 days ago.
Darwin Evo is my reimagined modern version of the RepRap Darwin 3D printer that started all of modern hobbyist 3D printing. I'm doing this build for Josef Prusa, who will be making a donation to the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation to match the original donation for the first Darwin Evo. I'm sure you'll already know Josef Prusa, founder of Prusa Research. RepRap is the self replicating rapid prototyping idea, starting with Adrian Bowyer and Ed Sells with the RepRap Darwin, that hobby 3D printing and Prusa Research are founded upon.

Darwin Evo was created to raise funds for SMF, please help continue that spirit by making a donation if you're able. paypal.com/gb/fundraiser/charity/4990412

This live series will be building the printer from beginning to end as a foundation for instructions, and BOM validation and the final printer will be shipped off to Jo Prusa in Czech Republic.

You can find the full open source information, CAD, STLs and bill of materials at Printables: printables.com/model/685181-darwin-evo-3d-printer

Sponsored partly by LDO Motors and E3D whom have supplied parts for the project, and by Jo Prusa who is paying me to build printer.
