Here I bring you with while I build my first tank trap. The idea is to have an obstacle to challenge myself when target shooting. To simulate an uncomfortable shooting position where there is no better option for the shot. Similar to a hunting shot on a great animal but there is no good place to go prone. This is a platform to practice for an event like that. Also to bring out my weaknesses in rifle shooting when taken out of my element but still trying to land a round on target.

This project is very inexpensive especially if you’re lucky enough to have the components handy. Maybe you can score some free scrap wood like I did or maybe you have some hardware and just need a few 4x4s. Even if you buy the whole thing the project is simple. Drill three holes and put two bolts in them to tie them all together and you have yourself a tank trap. If you don’t know why they’re called tank traps look at the beaches of Normandy on D-day and look at the big metal tank traps used to slow the advance of invasion. They can stop a tank when designed correctly but mine will only be asked to hold a bean bag and my rifle on occasion. Hope you enjoy, thanks for watching!
