Bugdom is an adventure platformer developed and published by Pangea Software in 1999. The game is set in the peaceful insect kingdom of Bugdom, home to all kinds of bugs. That peace is shattered when a war breaks out between fire ants and the kingdom’s inhabitants, including rolly pollies and ladybugs. Players take on the role of Rollie, who must journey through dangerous environments to stop the evil King Thorax and restore peace to Bugdom.
NoirStation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I can see why Bugdom captured the imagination of so many players and why it still enjoys a cult following today. The game is fantastic, with a charming world, fun characters, and creative level design. That said, it does feel a bit outdated by modern standards. There were a few moments where I got frustrated with the clunky game mechanics, but these technical limitations are to be expected from a game of its age. Despite that, the overall experience is still enjoyable and full of nostalgic charm.
