This game has a lot of fun puzzles but unfortunately a lot of them are pretty janky. I feel like the Paper Mario series got around this by having abilities and puzzles work directly along the x-axis rather than in three dimensions like this game did. I never really thought much about that until having some of these puzzles as a comparison point.
If you want to see more RPG goodness from Alyssa and I, we did a playthrough of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLv6GIX9eGKtHPnOeac3v4TnBhcx_XHZW3
I also did a solo playthrough of the original Paper Mario (with a lot of lag): youtube.com/playlist?list=PLv6GIX9eGKtF7DMmQA-ILdbBOljB9LDSk
