ABOUT THE SERIES:
"Meet The Crotoonians" is an exciting companion series to "The Railways of Crotoonia" web series, introducing the ragtag cast of Crotoonia to unfamiliar audiences through a day in their lives. But their lives are never a dull moment, and each two/three-minute episode is full of adventure and surprises! From the steam engines to the mermaids, these are the ones who call Crotoonia home!

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
And so we come to the end of MEET THE CROTOONIANS WEEKENDS TAKES FLIGHT!
When developing the event, having Budgie round out the lineup was a natural fit; he was a character I had wanted to bring into the series for YEARS, and opened up a lot of fun visual and character dynamics for the project. Him celebrating his 30th Anniversary this year helped out too!
When it came time to who would develop the short, I decided to offer Tipper the job...who very quickly came up with a really fun story idea, one further assisted by a memory of a common delivery in the series! Despite him not being the biggest Budgie buff, he very quickly got the vibe of the series down, made more delightful with the inclusion of Herky from the initial pitch! Tipper has been easily among the most versatile members on the crew, so seeing him bring this from script to screen was a pure joy.
Things got even more interesting when a discussion between me and my dear friend @Vincente22 back in November 2023 ended up brewing into a full-blown film festival for the premiere of his long-awaited feature film: BAD INFLUENCE. After tossing around some vague ideas and being unsure where to go (big craziness? True Blue Steam Team or OCs? Looking at the whole railway?), it was @DukeOfBenreBay who ultimately suggested the Budgie short after time and budget showed it would be wiser to produce one of these installments for the big screen. And with how the short came out, it was a wise move from Duke (who also pitched the opening shot gag connecting the feature presentation ;D)!
This short and event overall ended up showcasing the power of really solid collaboration; from @IHaveNoTalent62's incredible Jay Jay models, @tippertophat's unique direction and Budgie models, @DukeOfBenreBay's consultation, and the whole voice cast's work, this delayed-but-delightful little tentpole was a joy to see come together...especially with all of your support!
