This is the the first of 8 parts of an album of mine I wrote and recorded two years back called "Anemone Blues"
Headphones for all the details would be much appreciated :)
Lyrics:
I've been onto you for some time now
I caught wind, while wondering mind thin
You were meddling with the frequency
And the focus within
From the inside, not the outside
The inside, not the outside
I figure that's how you're doing it
You tinker away
But you were never such a thinker that it got in my way
Ok, why? Why? Oh why?
But then again
Off the hip
You shoot from the lip
You always take the pop-shot
Never quite the hot-shot, kid
You got a flip-able lid
And you don't keep it well hid
I've been running through not just what you said
But worse, did and wonder why?
Why? Oh Why?
Why?
Oh Never mind
Some context for those interested:
I had a heart attack and if it weren't for my partner ringing emergency for me , cause I sure wasn't going to, fear and mental illness is not a good combination for self care, I wouldn't be here now. Just being real with you as I feel this album is me being real with myself and since I'm getting it all out there may as well go all the way. I did this s*** to myself pretty young, so please let's not focus on that, this is just explanation nothing more.
I'm not entirely comfortable sharing any of this, well, not at all really but I feel it gives the album far more context and it was the first music I made after. Hope you understand. :)
The album is a blend from one track to the other it's almost like a concept album of sorts. The downfall of a crazy heart and makes sense more as a whole but it's well over an hour long as each track is longer than the average.
Funny thing was I had an entirely different album in mind that I meant to record but each time I was ready to go, I just wrote one of these songs on the spot instead. Looking back, I felt like this was almost a kind of purge of my bad thoughts, angst, bitterness , etc. I was trying to get it all out to "start again" but I've found (in my experience anyway) there's never a re-start in the true sense.
"Boy , you're gonna carry that weight a long time"
But still. This music I needed to get out somehow.
Of all my work so far, this album is my favourite and means the most to me. It's the closest I've come to the summary of one f***ing crazy life. Behave and enjoy yourself, kids. Don't be like Jack ;)
All my best to you wonderful supportive people. Much love and gratitude.
