Bubbleworks originally opened at Chessington in 1990 and was called Professor Burp's Bubbleworks. The ride was refurbished and reopened in 2006 to tie in with an Imperial Leather sponsorship, where the original appeal and charm was lost.
There were plans to restore Bubbleworks to its former glory, however these have been shelved in favour of an IP sponsorship which you will see on the ride in 2017.

- Professor Burp's Bubbleworks was designed by John Wardley
- 32,000,000 riders have experienced Bubbleworks over the years
- 2,000,000 galleons of water were recycled per day on the ride
- The original ride had over 60 anamatronics - the Imperial Leather retheme saw the majority of these removed or made static.
