Round 16 of the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship kicked off race day at Knockhill in dramatic fashion, as Cataclean Plato Racing’s Adam Morgan secured the rookie team’s first-ever BTCC victory in treacherously wet conditions. After taking the team’s first podium at Thruxton and winning Saturday’s Race to Pole, Morgan converted that momentum into a commanding lights-to-flag victory, leading teammate Daniel Rowbottom home for a memorable one-two finish.
Rowbottom played rear gunner in the closing stages, having earlier made an impressive move on Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport’s Gordon Shedden to take second. Shedden was then forced to defend his podium position from two of the championship’s biggest names, with Ash Sutton and Tom Ingram both piling on the pressure.
Sutton produced one of the drives of the race, charging from 11th on the grid to battle for the podium in the #116 NAPA Racing UK Ford Focus Titanium. However, as Ingram gradually closed in, the reigning champion was forced to switch his focus to keeping the Team VERTU Hyundai behind him.
With nine Drivers’ titles between Shedden, Sutton and Ingram, the fight for third provided plenty of drama in the extreme conditions, while a late Safety Car added another twist to the race.
Ricky Collard finished sixth for Team VERTU, ahead of a trio of Audi A3 Saloons led by local driver Dexter Patterson. Mikey Doble followed in eighth, while Aiden Moffat produced a superb drive from the back of the grid to finish ninth. NAPA Racing UK’s Sam Osborne rounded out the top ten.
