🧶 Unusual for a worsted-spun yarn, Imbue's heathered shades start with brightly dyed base colors of unspun wool – up to 6 different shades per colorway! 🎨
At Kraemer Textiles in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, each dyed bale of wool is pulled apart by hand, then colors are combined in carefully measured proportions before passing through the picking machine for blending. Then it's on to the carder, where the wool fibers travel through a series of rollers & hooks to be combed parallel in preparation for worsted spinning.
Spun into fine, smooth singles, the yarn is then plied into its soft, springy finished form – 3 plies for Imbue Sport (sport weight) or 5 plies for Imbue Worsted (worsted weight).
