For my second and final DS Sunday feature this week, I bring you a release from Perennial Pyrenees project, Brytho:Numen.
Imagine a parallel Albion, where an expansive guild has carried the secrets of English folk-magic and folklore throughout history into the present day, forming a hidden network of practitioners, artists, writers and musicians who distributed their work only among themselves…. until now.
BRYTHO:NUMEN presents ‘The Companie of the Hidden Crone: Archival Recordings 1970 – 2021’, a series of works by members in the form of live recordings, ritual pieces and occulture conjurings of 21 tracks by multiple different ‘projects’ and over 2 hours of sound experience, that reflect the lore and landscapes of that England into our own realm, including the only ‘external’ manuscript apparently written somewhere in an alternative 1991.
The Companie… offers a glimpse over the stile into these other fields. Will you take the first step?
This archival compilation will be released on 22nd May by Under the Dark Soil in double clear ‘prison’ cassette tape housed in raven cases. Reservations are now accepted by email through the website, and added to the Big Cartel store once released.
