guys. holy shit guys. MilkyyMelodies uploaded this cover 8 hours ago, and I have not stopped editing this since I saw it (except to eat dinner). someone help.
but um this cover BROKE ME??? I was NOT expecting this??? my flabbers? gasted. my heart? shattered. my hands? hurting.
thank GOD this cover was very canon-aligned, so the manips weren't too complicated. with that being said, I'm very pleased with the results of this very quick project. I think it looks pretty good ^^ I hope ya'll agree

VERY VERY MINOR SPOILER FOR BOOK 16! LIKE NONEXISTENT SPOILER BUT STILL (also there is blood/minor gore in the final scene)!
I think this is the first time Ive ever done something for a trend! I am quite happy with how this turned out, and what better time to do an animation with these two than after the release of The Hybrid Prince?
Little thing I wanted to point out - I slightly designed Crane (the forgotten one) after Clays cover design, making her browns more orange toned. I also think she had underscale-colored/red freckles because I think CLAY has underscale-colored/red freckles and their similarity is part of the reason why Umber recognized him immediately.
Symbols:
1. A crane feather (probably an easy guess as to why I picked this one)
2. Reeds (like her brothers name)
3. A caterpillar (specifically a reed dagger caterpillar cuz why not). In THP, Umber mentioned that Crane liked to protect caterpillars until they became butterflies, which I think is very cute
